This is the best place to go to if you have any concerns about your breast and or cancer. I was sent there by my doctor because they found cancer in my breast. I am so grateful for this doctor and her staff. They make you feel comfortable from the get go. I was moving out of the area and I was so concerned about any other doctor I may get after the move. I was so surprised when Tricare authorized continued visits to this doctor. I may have to travel over 2 hours to get there but it is well worth the drive. I have a piece of mind knowing that she will continue to do my follow up visits.
BACKSTORY: I am so grateful to my G.P. for referring me to The Breast Place and Dr. Beatty. My G.P. and now Dr. Beatty are two of the most compassionate, professional, and caring physicians I have ever dealt with. I was referred because I had concerns about a lump in my breast, even though I'd been told at my last mammogram that it was "probably" only scar tissue from a previous procedure. My G.P. had the wherewithal to understand that my stress over the lump (whether it was cancerous or not) was affecting my health, so he sent me straight to Dr. Beatty. COVID-19 PROTOCOL: These guys have knocked it out of the park when it comes to making anyone who is "Covid-aware" feel safe and comfortable. The waiting area is super clean and each chair is spaced 6 feet apart. The pens you sign with are sanitized and there is hand sanitizer readily available everywhere. Everyone is masked as well. After a short wait in the waiting area, you get moved to your room and wait there. When you exit, you leave out of a separate check-out area, entirely apart from where you enter. That way, all patients are generally moving in one direction rather than passing each other coming in and out. That may not be important to some of you reading this, but I appreciate the efforts! STAFF - Every single person I came into contact with at this office was outstanding and I mean that. There wasn't one staff member that was not warm, kind, efficient and friendly. It's hard to "fake" being invested in someone's wellness, so this practice has either done an excellent job of choosing employees or they make this place such a great place to work that employees are eager to help. Either way, it made me feel very comfortable during a very scary moment. Dr. Beatty - As a person with with very dense breast tissue, I am so accustomed to doctors just sort of blowing off any irregularities found in my breasts, so it was an enormous relief to me to a) have someone really listen to my concerns, b) take my concerns seriously, and c) behave as if I am an actual human being, with fears and feelings and understand that the prospect of having breast cancer is VERY scary. She examined me and explained what she was doing and what she was looking for every step of the way. We formulated a plan of how this visit would go and the why and what of what may change during the course of the examination. I ended up having a core biopsy of this annoying lump. It was absolutely painless and because she warned me of the "clicking" noise that would occur during the taking of the samples, I didn't "jump" or anything. Best of all, she recognized that I was scared (despite my efforts to hide it) and somehow managed to allow me to accept that I was afraid without feeling ashamed or embarrassed by my fear. That's a skill that many physicians do not have. OVERALL EXPERIENCE - I do not yet know the results of my biopsy (it's only been 12 hours since my visit! LOL), but regardless of the outcome, I truly, honestly feel that I am going to be okay. If it's negative, I will be THRILLED! If it's positive, then, because of my experience yesterday, I absolutely believe and trust that I will be in good hands helping me get on and stay on the road to wellness. I have that much confidence in this medical practice. I am grateful that my G.P. sent me here for further investigation into my issues. And while I hope it turns out to be nothing, if it happens to turn out to be "something," I will be happy to have this team of professionals on my side.
I cannot say enough positive things about this practice. The staff here is top notch. They have taken care of family members, myself, and I know friends who go here as well. Breast care is not always an easy thing to deal with but they handle it will professionalism and help the patient be at ease with whatever is going on. I do miss Dr. Fiorini deeply, but I have received great care since she left the practice from Dr. Beatty and the NP's. I trust them with my care being that I have to go for early prevention. They are great about getting back with you if they are needed outside of an appointment through the fairly new portal they have started using. I have recommended this practice numerous times when people ask where to go to for issues or even if they just need a mammogram. Breast health is so very important! Be pro active!
