“Edit: my previous review was after an upsetting encounter with someone from billing. My office experience was great. After my original post, I was extremely impressed that MedCare had someone call me and gather more information on my experience. It was genuine enough that I was willing to update my review. I left one star off because of that one bad call, but it doesn’t reflect this office (the billing group has work to do) but I would still recommend this office.
My low review is not because of my in office experience but rather some billing practices that truly shocked me. My son and I went in for strep tests. I presented my insurance cards (my son also has a secondary) and reiterated this at the desk. The office visit was perfectly fine and the staff was kind and caring, but I was shocked when I was billed $150 without a statement or notification. I called the Medcare billing office and found out they billed my primary insurance and my old insurance as a secondary, which led to my claim being denied. They’re refiling the claim now but I have lost confidence that they aren’t going to randomly or accidentally bill me at any given moment. Be careful here, yall.“
