MOTHER OF GOD... Penny has given me an ineffably superb haircut. I'm a guy with extremely thick (read: unmanageable) and fairly curly hair. I went in and described what I thought I wanted in terms of my haircut. Penny politely interjected and told me that I was going about it all wrong. She gave me her recommendations, and I, a guy who has had long hair for less than two years and has no real idea what he is talking about with regards to hair shape and cutting techniques (beyond knowing I need layering because of my hair's thickness), gladly went along with her recommendations. The result is absolutely spectacular. She somehow cut barely anything off the length but gave me a brand new look. Watching her work was absolutely fascinating because she is clearly incredibly skilled and precise but I had no idea how she was making her decisions as to how much to cut and where. Without sounding egotistical, this haircut has bumped me up to a new level I didn't know existed, or was possible. My girlfriend, a more experienced long-hair-haver, is also in complete awe of how Penny transformed my hair. And let me be abundantly clear... my hair was already pretty good beforehand. I actually got a random compliment on my hair from some dude on the street earlier in the day before I got my haircut with Penny. So it's not like I'm some schmuck who uses 3-in-1 shampoo/conditioner/body wash. If you have curly hair, and especially if you are a guy ignorant as to the intricacies of hair styling (read: almost all guys), you are a FOOL to go to anyone other than Penny at DNa Lab. (As an aside, they have a nifty horizontal hair washing/conditioning station that doesn't threaten to snap your neck like the seated ones do at other salons and non-barber haircut places.)

I had the best experience at DNa Lab. I moved to the area a year ago and have been searching for a place I can trust. Christina did an amazing job on my hair and I walked away so happy with the end result. All of the staff were kind and friendly, and supplied me with lots of cucumber water and coffee as I got my hair done. I will definitely be coming back!Service: Hair coloring
