We have taken our dog to South County Vet. practice since we adopted her over 10 years ago. Sadie has always received good care there by the staff and Doctors. She is a small dog, shy and nervous at times but is always handled with a patient and gentle manner by the staff. She recently needed a surgery and Dr. Otis was wonderful before, during and post surgery, offering professional and compassionate care throughout the experience. We highly recommend the South County Veterinary practice in Wakefield.

Dr. Otis is the best and I cannot recommend him highly enough. He has a calm and caring demeanor that is instantly noticeable, by humans and animals alike. I tend to ask a lot of questions and Otis always takes time to answer them and is never glib or dismissive with his responses. More importantly, he is extremely knowledgeable and in my experience goes above and beyond for the animals he cares for. The staff here is also very caring and make visits as painless as possible. My anxious dog enjoys her visits here thanks to the amazing support staff. I saw a review or two complaining about costs here which is confusing. A checkup is expensive, but that is industry standard unfortunately. Nobody is getting shots, a checkup, and basic blood testing for heart worm/tick diseases for under $200 in 2023, doesn't exist. Otis and SCVH have also been kind enough to prescribe certain meds for my dog without a visit. Last year she had a rash and one email later I had the prescriptions with no appointment required. Not saying that they can always do this, but I find SCVH to be willing to work with people on caring for their animal without breaking the bank if possible.

Dr. Otis is the best. I have been coming here for a little over a year with my golden retriever and have nothing but good things to say. The staff members are so kind and caring towards Gene Parmesan. One time, He had an eye infection, I called in for an appointment they made room for me that day. They care about animals, and it shows.
