I recently had surgery and I needed PT. The hospital gave me five choices & I had to choose two. I chose the closest one to my home not knowing anything about the facility. It is called Rehabilitation Hospital of Rhode Island. We must have gone by it hundreds of times to shop at the Dowling Village stores above it-- off Eddie Dowling Hwy in North Smithfield. If you or a friend, loved one or neighbor require rehab I highly recommend Rehabilitation Hospital of Rhode Island! The nurses (all of them), the OTs and PTs treat you with a caring heart as if you are one of the family! They know what you are capable of even when you are unsure of yourself. I appreciate and thank ALL of you at RHRI and hope you never change! You are a wonderful group of caring people - Thank you! I’ll start by thanking the nurses – who even shared some recipes with me! Wendy and Claudine, were wonderful. I want to call out the small cute PT who made me walk the stairs and PT Director, Tracey, a wonderful heart who took me outdoors to walk! We approached this LONG flight of stairs (to me they were long and scary), she said, “Do you trust me?” I said YES! I did the stairs with her confidence in me! Bob, the OT, was the first I met. He made me feel very comfortable; always with a smile and a joke--made my transition to the facility an easy one. Though I can't name them all, I want to thank all therapists and the nurses on All three shifts!!
