“KINGA IS AMAZING! Don’t listen to any other review that says something different. My hair was dull, grown out, and super dark at the roots before walking into her studio. I left with an even brighter blonde that is blended seamlessly. She fixed my choppy layers into a face framing dream. Her blowout technique is phenomenal, my hair hasn’t been as sleek and soft in a minute. If you’re lucky enough to get in her books, your hair will thank you! The best hairdresser on the island, hands down“

“So, I initially was seeking a hairstylist on Block Island to do an updo for me for a wedding I was attending over the weekend. There was only a limited number of salons and stylists since the island is so small. I came across Clayhead Spa and a few others but ultimately choose to contact Clayhead due to the great reviews online. There were 9 weddings on the island that weekend and it worked out that since I was going early, I was lucky to get an appointment with Michael on Friday, at this point abandoning the idea of an updo. (No stylists were available on Saturday as they were all doing work for the weddings.) At this point, I was going for broke-cut and color, I would worry about the frizz tomorrow. The spa is beautiful and I cannot even begin to describe the view from the chair. Michael introduced himself and I was immediately putty, I gave him carte blanche…..do what you think is going to make me look like me look my best. And he did not disappoint!! I got a great cut and the color is amazing, I got a ton of compliments when I got to wedding and especially when I got home. The cut is versatile and so easy to manage. I am typically completely inept when it comes to styling my own hair, but this I can do easily (in spite of the fact that I told Michael I was going to kidnap him and have him do my hair every day.) You know that just out of the salon feeling, girls, I was walking down Water Street like a celebrity. And then there was Michael’s French bulldog, Dorothy Pickles, who hangs around the salon. She was the cutest damn dog (and I am a cat person), maybe it was because she was so small and cuddly and definitely loved sitting on your lap. She sat with me the whole time my color was processing; it was like pet therapy. I thoroughly recommend seeking Michael out whenever you are on Block Island. And in the winter, he heads to NYC and lucky for me, I live in CT, so I will be making the trips down to see him there. P.S. Since Michael also did an extra process of glazing my hair following the color, the frizz never came!!“
