I have indirect hot water, connected to the boiler. Unless the boiler is on, that heats up the house with forced hot water (Baseboard), I won't get hot water. My boiler stopped working. Although, I don't need heat, I still need hot water. Yesterday, I called Dumais Plumbing and Heating about the problem with my boiler, that wouldn't fire up. Bruce Dumais, the owner, answered the phone. He was polite and professional. He assured me, he would send someone the next day (as it was already late to send someone on the same evening) to take a look at it. Next day, two technicians, George and Brian came. they performed diagnostics, trouble shooting the problem. They checked thoroughly and pin pointed the problem to the Aqua-stat. He contacted the part store for a new one. It would cost $400. George gave me an option, if I wanted to go pick it up and they'll install it or asked me if I wanted to install it myself? We talked about my capability and we decided, that I could do it myself. Before even I asked, how much would be the charge for the diagnostics, George said, "There is no charge". But I couldn't accept and not able to believe, that someone would spend time and not charging (That too, two techs...). I offered them to pay for the diagnostic charge, but they refused. These guys are great! They are honest and very professional. Finally, I insisted, that at least they have coffee and donuts on me. They reluctantly accepted.In this day and age, when you can't readily trust anyone, it is so refreshing to meet honest professionals. It gives you HOPE. I will recommend Dumais Plumbing and Heating, especially, George and Brian with full heart and confidence.Thank You George and Brian Again!BTW, I went to the part store, bought the Aquastat and replaced it myself (It took me less than half hour). The boiler is up and running. I have hot water.
