I write very few reviews and only if I feel that the public can learn something. My dog " lasso" who is normally an active three year old Staffordshire developed a violent cough. Due to our vet changing her practice focus I was looking for a new vet when this happened. We visited last week and upon a cursory exam received two billing options one was for nearly 500- The other( which included meds) . Of course you want what's best but here is where it gets screwy. They took X-rays and could only say that they appeared non typical requiring a specialist to read them. So off we went with pills and told to follow up in two weeks. Two days into a five day supply "Lasso" began hacking uncontrollably. Nothing for nothing if I was a vet and I had a difficult case I would have my staff check in on the pt. No not at all in fact try calling and play whether they are going to answer the phone. Upon getting a copy of the experts report I noted that only one of the recommendations ( antibiotic) was given. So after nearly 900.00 and getting them to send records we have another appointment at another vet. I was able to speak with a vet who informed me that they should have done a simple test ( Heartworm) takes 8 mins to get the results. even though lasso was treated monthly for Heartworms. It's still a possibility and it should have been ruled out. I'm not saying you shouldn't bring your pet here ,what I am saying is do your due diligence,and know what you're walking into.

The vets and techncians at Gansett Animal Hospital are professional, competent, and caring with animals and their owners. They have taken excellent care of two dogs of mine over about a 15 year period of time. They are excellent with relating to dogs. Both my former dog and my current one have willingly cooperated with the vets and technicians there, running up the steps eagerly when they have gone for routine exams, and when they didn't feel well seemed to know they would be helped. I highly recommend them.

I love this place and Dr. Munson so much! The entire staff is so kind an patient. I am a nervous cat mom and they all really take the time to explain every detail to you. While I have not met Dr. Russo, she had filled in and answered all my questions while Dr. Munson was on vacation. This place is exactly what you want in a vet! I would give this more stars if I could!
