New England Shubukan is a world class dojo. I studied karate for over a decade before finding Sensei Ken and I can honestly say of all the Sensei I've trained with I put Sensei Ken at the top. The roots of knowledge go deep with direct ties to the originators. Sensei Ken is extremely knowledgeable, skilled, and patient. You can feel his passion for karate and if you are a karate-ka that spirit is infectious and growth is an unavoidable-beautiful by product. Sensei Lyons pays spectucular attention to detail and blesses us with top notch technique. I've been here about a year and there is a reason I have rearranged my schedule to make sure I can attend classes. Kata is taught with passion and proper application is emphasized both for self defense and competitive arts utilization. Sensei has been recognized as a highly skilled martial artist worthy of leading those who strive for their best within the art. There is mutual respect, zen vibes and support within this dojo.
