With the casing of my in-car remote key broken, I managed to find a new key online that I could replace the remote mechanism that still worked, knowing that a new key can cost a few hundred dollars at the dealer. When I went to have it cut, Guillaume told me that the chip from the box also had to be transferred to the new box so that the car could detect the key and be able to start. But this chip was completely integrated into the plastic casing.
