I never write negative reviews, but this was such an unprofessional experience. I contacted David Riggs to initially file an IRS form to reinstate our Non profit status. As easy as it sounds, he has failed to file the CORRECT papers to the IRS. I have been contacting him for over a year to check on the status, and he never ONCE returned a phone call or gave me status updates. Yet, I was patient, kept calling to try and get a hold of him, and the sweet older lady receptionist even felt bad and kept apologizing for him. So I took it upon myself to hire another accountant and explained the whole situation. He has went above and beyond to get a hold of the IRS on the phone ( while i was with him listening) and they told us that the application David Riggs did was wrong and it was denied right away. They helped us with the right application and all the paper work we have to mail to the IRS in order for us to get our Non profit status up to date. After one month, I have received the letter from the IRS that we are good to go! I called David Riggs to explain to him that you have done the wrong application for us and had me waiting for a whole year to get an answer when it was denied right away because of his negligence of not filling the correct papers. during that year our organization missed out on grant opportunities for my KIDS and the new building we just acquired!!! Grants were suppose to help with the building and all the other expenses. He still claims that he has done nothing wrong and is now completely ignoring my calls. Although he still cant admit his wrong doing, and mistaken my kindness and respect to him and his staff while all this going on for weakness, this incident will hurt his integrity down the road. He failed to realize how well connected I'm and my network of professionals in this city. I have made some phone calls to quite a few prominent figures that referred me to him and know him, and they were very unhappy with what he did. I hope this was a lesson for him to do the right thing next time and treat everyone with respect.
If I could give a "0" I would. I am very disappointed with this place! I have had my taxes done years ago by Mr. Galen Riggs when they came highly recommended. I truly wish I would have checked the reviews prior to having Accounting Services complete my taxes. This time, however, service was terrible, my taxes were never filed and I have received penalties and letters from the IRS with no help from this place. They claimed they would send a letter to the IRS explaining the problem and the letter had someone else's information in it. I would have been better off preparing them myself!
I fully agree with the review below. If I could give 0 stars I would. People are not perfect, but as someone who works with people everyday in customer service - this was absolutely horrible. David was nothing but unresponsive and NOT helpful. I had an income tax nightmare, and needed to file an amendment for the state of Delaware (I worked there for the summer). I usually filed my taxes on turbotax, which I did and did it terribly wrong. I do not understand taxes and wanted to fix this so my boyfriend recommended David as he does their family taxes. I reached out to David in May 20th. I sent David 11 emails in the course of 3 months asking when he would be finished.. Turns out by August he tells me he was missing one of my W-2's which i sent back in May. I am now getting letters from Delaware to pay my outstanding balance and getting late fee's. I had to TEXT him for him to answer now that I was getting letters from Delaware because at this point he wasn't even replying to me. He tells me to call Delaware and ask for a 30 day extension, and I did. They told me they could not do this, so I told David. Within a DAY he sent me my amendment.. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? August 21st I reviewed and signed. Told me not to worry he will send it in for me. Good, great, phew this is over. WRONG. Another letter from Delaware with another late fee. This is September 2nd. Emailed and texted David to confirm he sent them for me, no answer. I had to call. He claims he sent them in and could be "sitting on someone's desk or something" - okay i'll buy it. Give it some time - mail can be tricky. September 17th comes - they are sending me to US Treasury and still have not gotten my amendment. Texted David, no answer. I just had to pay the balance at this point and can longer put any faith in him. I wasted $125 dollars on TOP of my outstanding bill for Delaware that I should have just paid in the first place and sent the amendment myself. Please do not waste your time, energy, stress, and money here. He did give an ounce of care when all I was asking was for help - this is his JOB and is terrible at it.
