I called to ask about filling a 20 or 40 pound tank at their location. The employee asked me what size. I told her. She said they don't do that..... unless you have an account. I told her I would be paying with cash or credit card. She then told me they don't fill tanks at their location. She sounded very unsure and seemed to just want to get rid of me....rather admit she didn't know. If this is what they have dealing with the public and customers.....I would avoid them.

The day before the cold snap on New Years weekend, Eastern propane deemed my tank unsafe to fill and didn’t contact me. They closed up shop the very next day, and gave me no way to heat my house or even get a service crew to replace the tank (I own the tank). Eventually I got a hold of Hellers and they took care of everything. I just don’t see why they would wait until the day before they closed shop for 4 days to refuse to refill, especially during the coldest weekend of the year. I had to get temporary 40 pound tanks to power our space heaters. What if they had done this to an elderly person, or someone that was disabled, I guess they would just freeze to death?
