“Tom, the owner, was very helpful and honest on my initial phone call about a repair on my LG front-load washing machine (model WM2688HWM). He confirmed my suspicions about worn bearings and possible broken “spider” bracket at the back of the drum, based on a sound over the phone, the burning rubber smell during the spin cycle, and the play in the drum. He could have come out and charged me $110 for the visit, only to tell me that the repair would be around $900 and not worth it. Instead he told me all this over the phone and saved me time and money with his honesty. He also educated me about how, over time, it is the *cold* wash cycles and detergent that lead to the corrosion of the cast aluminum spider bracket’s bolt holes, leading to unbalanced spin cycles, further fatigue of the cast aluminum, and eventual breakage of the aluminum spider bracket. After a while the bearings wobble inside the outer plastic bearing races and ruin the tight press fit that gives the required alignment for balanced spinning at 1320 rpm. This repair would require new bearings, a new spider, and a new plastic outer tub, plus 2-3 hours of labor. So I not only learned something, I saved some money in the process! Why aren’t there more honest and patient guys like this in the world? Now I guess I’ll go buy a new washing machine. He said that Speed Queen is the only brand that doesn’t suffer from this common failure mode. Thank you.“
“they were awesome! quick response! so nice and professional. i would call them again and the way appliances are made now, I'll probably have to!“
“Very communicative, flexible, knowledgeable, and thorough! Clearly knows what they’re doing and cares about the customer (ie. Giving tips for maintenance instead of just fixing and leaving, and takes the time to explain the issue). Thank you! (Shout out to Stephen!)“
