“So I've had multiple massages in my life. mb 30-35? . About a dozen have been here at xiu in slippery rock. .have to say this is the first time it has been 'only avg'. All other times it has been top notch her at xiu. The issue today was the lang barrier, I think the girl is new and she just didn't understand what I wanted or needed. I only wanted specific areas worked on and kept telling her to use more pressure, but she didn't. I think she just didn't understand.. even so, it was an above avg massage as you get a lot for your money here. A good value. The girl today needs to learn about diff techniques and changing positions ( that the others there use) but I'm sure she'll get there.
I was just in pain and she did help some but that's my fault for waiting too late to go. I do 1.5 or 2 hr massages bc I wait too long and am really knotted up. I also always do walk in and never an issue.
ALL other masseuses I've had here use multiple techniques ( thumb, knuckles, forearm, heel of hand, elbow and multiple position changes around you for leverage, some will get up on table) . Some have magic hands and not sure how they are doing it. They even will do tea tree oil, hot stones or hot towel without an extra charge. A few are excellent w ' reading ' your muscles/ tendons,and know the pressure points, working on ' unrelated' area to release in another.
Suggestion to owner.. if you know one of your employees has a hard time understanding, please get paper/ picture for the customers to cross off/ circle specific areas to work on/ not work on and to request soft, med , firm or extra firm pressure, hot stones yes or no, hot towel yes / no etc.. this may help w clearer communication.
Again this is a high rated place in my books,an excellent value. I've paid double in other places for 1/ 2 the quality. Those at Xiu are very kind, polite and professional as others have stated. I'll definitely go and continue to go back .. mb if I can get the name of a masseuse I love, I'll book exclusively w her, but I do love the flexibility of walk in. Give it a try!“
