When my brother and I went here as walk-ins there were 3 other customers in progress. The lady told us we would wait a half hour. She was exactly right. I brought my own hair and got 48 braids. I showed them a picture of the style I wanted. It should've been half as many braids and the design I got is not what I showed them but the lady that did my hair didn't speak English. I think $140 was a lot to ask considering I brought my own extension hair. They have loads of hair there. My braids look okay- a bit sloppy in the back. I'm just happy that I don't have to struggle with how to style my hair everyday. My brother just got cornrows for $80. His didn't turn out great either but he has fine, thin hair. Another customer came in and asked the owner to style his hair. She insisted it was too short but my brother has shorter hair and got the style that the customer requested, so I'm inclined to agree with the other reviewer who speculated that the owner doesn't want to work as much. There's constant chatter in their foreign language and some little kids running around. The atmosphere is what one would expect. I might go here again if I can get a different operator. For what they charge I would want to make sure I get the style I requested.

Been coming here for years. Love the ladies they know what they're doing and they always do an amazing job. Yes be prepared to get your hair pulled. It comes with getting our hair done. If you have a sensitive scalp this place is not for you if you can't handle the pain. They braid all types of hair. Remember to tip your hair stylist. The ladies work hard.

I tried them to get my hair braided not paying too much attention to the reviews since they were so mixed. And the estimate was right for Medium Box Braids being 3 hours and my hair was gripped properly, They also accept walk ins so I was able get taken as soon as I walked in. I also did see a few happy customers leave the shop for the simple cornrow hairstyles however when I got my braids my hair wasn’t tucked. When she cut the hair at the end she was cutting my natural hair, didn’t put mousse at the end, there was one awkward part/ box in the front I guess she didn’t feel like spitting it into two and didn’t apply hot water high enough on the hair so it looked...read full review
