4156 Library Rd Building 3, Pittsburgh“I would recommend Iron City Elite to anyone trying to improve their health and fitness. It is a welcoming environment with a diverse group of people from all walks of life. The group classes are small enough that you definitely get the individual attention from the trainer that you need while still having the energy and camaraderie of a class. The trainers are great about meeting you at your level, but still pushing you to make progress. They are always willing to make modifications for individuals where needed.“

5:15AM - 7:30PM
5770 Butler St, Pittsburgh“My experience is a bit unique. I met with Brooks to talk over some very specific goals I have and he told me that they are not the best place to assist me with my goals and referred me to someone else. If my fitness goals change and I want to do something more in line with what type of training they specialize in, I will not hesitate to go back because that kind of honesty and frankness is not always commonplace in the business world. He could've promised me the world and taken my money but he and his gym clearly prioritize honesty and customer satisfaction which I think is great.“

605 Melwood Ave, Pittsburgh“Training Revelations is a personal training business owned, managed and run solely by Josh Wolinsky in his very well-equipped gym. He has not only all the basic strength training equipment, he also has special custom-made equipment and equipment for strengthening and/or rehabbing any area of the human body.
Before coming to Training Revelations, I did my research. I looked up countless personal trainers online, read their reviews, and interviewed a few. None of them felt like a good match for me.
I worked with personal trainers twice before in my life, several years ago. I hated working out. I knew it was "good for me," but I was not motivated so each training experience was short lived.
Finally, about five years ago, (at age 52), I knew that I needed to work on strengthening my body. I had begun to feel the aches and pains of growing older, and what would later become a diagnoses of inflammatory (autoimmune) arthritis.
When I met with Josh for our initial consultation, I could tell by his demeanor, the questionnaire he gave me, and his written policies that he was extremely professional, serious, and thorough in his approach and philosophies around strength training and overall wellness.
It has now been five years that I have been coming to Training Revelations. The mere fact that I have been strength training for five years is a testament to how excellent Josh and his thoughtful approach to wellness is. He has, and continues to develop customized workouts to help my entire body, to increase my strength and flexibility, to build my resilience and increase my knowledge of my own body and develop excercises and techniques to help myself. He has been helping me develop my training IQ. Josh has taught me self-myofascial release (SMR) techniques, foam rolling and many stretches that improve my quality of life and help me live an active life. When my arthritis acts up, or when I've incurred an injury outside of training, Josh has always been able to rehabilitate me. He has taught me that there is always something that we can do in our sessions that I will benefit from.
This includes mentally as well. Josh's approach includes "table time," where I have short breaks between exercises. During this time, Josh and I talk. He uses this time to counsel me on proper nutrition, healthy life-style habits, self-care, even setting healthy boundaries. His passion and objective are to teach me how to be my best self- physically and emotionally, He really cares and it shows.
I am absolutely so fortunate to have met Josh. I continue to benefit from his skill, knowledge, experience, dedication, passion, and his endless efforts to see me grow in my capacity for physical and overall wellness.
Josh has never been late once in the five years I've been training. He also has never once cancelled our session. He is incredibly consistent and dedicated to his clients. I see him twice a week. He has a unique sense of humor that comes out sometimes and it's delightful and quirky. He has an extensive collection of music and has expanded my music tastes. He's also willing to turn the music off it that's what I need.
Josh is an excellent teacher and an excellent communicator. He holds my feet to the fire when I start to slack off. He's not shy about calling me out when I tell him I'm not making good choices. He doesn't want to care more about a client's wellness than they care for themselves. This training is a partnership. Sometimes it's tough love and sometimes it's humor and gentle reminders, but it is always 1000% care, consistency, education, and positivity and inspiration that Josh pours into each session, hour after hour, day after day, week after week, and year after year. I'm so so grateful that Josh is my trainer. I'm now stronger mentally and physically that I ever have been, and it is la“

1408 S Negley Ave, Pittsburgh“I have been working with JoAnn at Hydration Health and Fitness for nearly two years. From day one JoAnn listened to my concerns and frustrations about my past with various diets and exercise and empathized deeply. She helped me to instill new habits that are sustainable and realistic with my day to day life. I now feel that I know how to exercise safely, set my own (realistic!!) goals, and create sustainable nutrition plans for myself. Additionally, she helped me to gain a much healthier and less negative outlook on nutrition and exercise which makes this process even more rewarding.“

“My wife and I lived in Pittsburgh for a year and *absolutely loved* MADabolic. Training there was a huge highlight of our time in Pittsburgh. Here's more detail about what we loved:
- The workouts are excellent and efficient. We just show up, watch instructors demonstrate (with sufficient nuance and detail) each exercise, then work. It's an intense and productive hour, we always leave dripping sweat and made noticeable gains quite quickly.
- The instructors are friendly, engaged, and give good feedback. My squat and hinge motions got significantly better due to instructor feedback, and I learned way more than I would with just video instruction. I also learned some boxing basics. *Every* instructor learned our names immediately, and made an effort to have it feel like a real community rather than a transactional workout.
- My wife and I had significantly different prior experience with exercise, but we could take the same class next to each other (just using different weights and getting different feedback).
- It was just a really great vibe. We several times/week and were always excited to go. We both got so much stronger throughout the program. We loved interacting with the instructors.
We wound up checking it out randomly because Jesse happened to be recruiting in the lobby of our apartment building, and we're *really* glad we did!“
