Haven’t gone anywhere in Pittsburgh that shows greater attention to detail. I’ve been going to Chris and he always has me leaving with a new expectation of what a haircut should be.

I cannot say enough about Dark Root. When I moved to pittsburgh in 2021, I had a nightmare of a time finding a barber. I went through several who messed my hair up, cut my beard way too short, or just faded it like super cuts would but with a $60 price tag.Fast forward to a short few months into 2021, I came across dark root and never looked back. The shop is a vibe. Free beer/water, tons of cool memorabilia, and great selection of music.I am very picky with my hair and I’ve had two rockstar barbers at dark root. I came across Ricky when I desperately downloaded the “theCut” app hoping to find someone who could see my son on a Saturday morning. Previous attempts at an appointment, with anyone, just about anywhere, the day before had led nowhere.Lucky me tho, Ricky came up with a cancellation and we put ourselves in.I can’t say enough about how smooth and chill this appointment was. My son’s not full-on scared of haircuts but… they make him feel uncomfortable. He can start to wiggle and get impatient but he sat so perfectly for Ricky.
