I have been going to Pete's for a few years. Basic afro maintenance and also had a low cut that he was able to do woman's style. Always looks good. Moreover as a woman I feel comfortable in the shop which hasn't always been the case at barbershops because some of them engage in "locker room guy talk" right in front of you. None of that at Pete's, just sports on the tv, r&b on the radio, go in get your fresh cut, pay, then leave. Nice and simple!

Excellent haircuts at good prices. It's conveniently located near 29th and Girard so lots of bus options. Every time I've been the staff are friendly and welcoming. They do walk in haircuts, I went in today, Friday at 4pm (they close at 5pm) and was still served. My bill was $35 for a men's haircut and beard trim and I think they did a very good job. Please try and support locally owned non-chain locations like this one when and where you can.

I took my 4 year old son here for a haircut because we were in the area and the shop had good reviews. We got there at 9:30 and although we waited an hour to be seen, the barber was a WIZARD with my four year old. My kid sat and cried through the entire haircut, (he's always hated the barber so this is just what he normally does) but this barber was a god and worked his magic all in a matter of ten minutes. I was in and out and everyone at the shop was so patient with us and the chaos that we brought to them. I would give ten stars if I could! Here's a picture of my son, with his cut exactly how we wanted it!
