John and Bill are absolutely fantastic! They completed a four month renovation on my South Philly home with clear and consistent communication, care, thoughtfulness (and a lot of laughter). When John first came to the house to prepare a quote, he was respectful and direct- he told me what he thought needed done, handled my sticker shock with grace, and explained my options in a way my non-contractor brain could understand. I spoke with a few contractors and he was by far the most reasonably priced as well as most pleasant to work with.

Work began on time and John's estimates for the length of time needed to complete the work were accurate. We initially budgeted three months but when a structural issue was found he called me to discuss options. He shared his opinion but did not pressure me to make a specific decision. Once I'd decided, he got to work immediately to get the required permits and architectural plans. The issue added a month to the project and John graciously accommodated that around his other projects. His and Bill's attention to detail was a very pleasant surprise! I've worked with many contractors during my career in real estate and they are by far the most thoughtful. They clean up after a project better than I do! When I labored over a layout decision, John patiently discussed the pros and cons of each option and gave me time to consider while communicating when he needed a decision so as to keep work on track. I was impressed with John and Bill's design taste- they have a great eye!- and pointed out ways to optimize my kitchen and bathroom designs. I was also impressed with the other professionals John recommended and sub contracted with for junk removal, painting, countertops, front door, roofing, and tile work. But the best part of the whole process was the trust and ease with which we collaborated (second only to witnessing the banter between John and Bill... and Bill's clothing choices.) Be sure to ask John about the treats!
