I am an elderly person who has had animals all my life. I appreciate all veterinarians. I have no reason to discriminate between one or the other. I don't want to write a story here about what is good and what is bad. I just want to inform you that in my life I have never met a veterinary clinic with such great disrespect for the life of an animal. I didn't even think that such a thing could exist. Whoever wants to believe me believes me, whoever doesn't... is free to do what he wants.
They were initially a great office, but there's definitely something wrong in the administration end of things. Have asked them several times to update a phone number on our account and they still haven't done it and then get annoyed at us when it's the wrong number. They have also treated us very coldly since we had to have our elderly pet put down when he could no longer walk from arthritis and barely had the energy to even chew his food, as if it was somehow our fault that his health declined after living well past the expected age for his species/breed or we were heartless for having him put to sleep instead of letting him decline further. We've rarely had pets who we felt were sick enough to have put down and it was one of the hardest decisions we've had to make, and these people make us feel terrible about it every time we try to take a pet in for a checkup. They also handle our other pets very roughly now and seem dismissive about any concerns or questions we have. It's a shame because they were really the only good vet office in town before things started to decline a few years ago. Maybe they just hired some bad people or something. Not sure, but we're considering just looking for a vet in a completely different city. Driving an hour away every time we need boosters or a checkup would probably be better than letting these people manhandle our poor pets any longer.
I will continue to drive an hour to the Dr for my dogs after multiple visits to my previous vet, closer to my city, kept pushing meds on one of my dogs, instead of treating the root cause. Apple Grove knew what was causing her issues and we started working with her body, not just treating a symptom. She came "back to life" after being seen at Apple Grove. I'm forever grateful!
