I found Brighton Electric on a Google search for an electrician in my area (Central Jersey). I called and spoke to Ross who then scheduled one of his electricians to come out to my home to check why I had no power to two rooms. The electrician came and seemed very nice. I explained the problem and he immediately began troubleshooting the outlets in both rooms. He check my circuit breaker box. He said I had a short somewhere so he needed to start testing all the lines for that areas of the house. It took about 2 hrs. and was unable to find the short. He suggested they run a new line from the circuit breaker box on a new circuit breaker to feed the two rooms by passing the existing line. It would also entail replacing the old (approx. 40yrs.) circuit break box with a new box with extra circuit breakers. The cost for all the work was going to cost $3500. He explained the job to me and I was not ready to fork out that kind of money. He said it could be put through my home owners insurance due to the severity of the break box being in such bad shape. I told him I need time to think about it. Long story short (no pun intended) he told me it was going to cost $350 for his time for troubleshooting plus service trip even though nothing was fixed and was not able to locate the short in the line. I was surprised and went a head and wrote out a check. The next day I called Ross back and told him I was not happy and that i should not have to pay $350 for his electrician to do nothing more than trying to find the source of the problem. I was also not told before his electrician started troubleshooting about the charge for him just coming to my house and the cost for troubleshooting/service trip l up front. Ross was very nice and said he would refund me the entire $350 which said I would accept a $200 refund and would be ok with only paying him $150 since I felt that his electrician did spend time trouble shooting and took time to explain the work entailed to fix the problem I received the refund check within three or four days. Ross is a man of his word and even though I was unhappy with service he was apologetic and we came to an agreement and got my refund.
Easy to communicate with via phone, email, text. The staff showed up a little late but called ahead to let me know which I appreciated. When they arrived they were courteous and professional and explained all my options. They really went above and beyond in terms of the job. Honest and friendly folks that are professionals. Highly recommend.
Brighton saved us! In the middle of kitchen construction our 30 year old electrical panel died-- at 4 pm on a Saturday . None of the local guys were open so I found Brighton on YELP and read the great reviews and Angie's list endorsement . All true! Super nice guys -- Lee came over within the hour and the team arrived 8 am Sunday. By 5 pm we had a new Panel and construction can stay on track . Forget the Princeton guys-- we are sticking with Brighton. Ann M Princeton
