After my long time house painters closed up shop I was in painter limbo. I had several projects that needed done, all exterior, that didn't seem that major, but I wanted someone with a good reputation and fair pricing. I reached out to two local painters, one a large company, and another smaller company for estimates. Both were efficient, pleasant, and provided pricing about $200 apart from each other. However for smaller projects I felt the cost was exorbitant especially since I was providing the paint, at $80/gallon and had one job already prepped by another contractor. Not knowing who to turn to and with fall fast approaching I needed to make a decision. I decided to get one more estimate and found Jay online. He's an older gentleman and independent contractor and met with me personally for the estimate. He's very laid back and at times I felt like I lead the conversation but he answered my questions and provided an estimate more in line with the price I had in mind for the jobs at hand. He was on time, did everything as described, worked clean, and did the job well. I even asked him to perform a few more small add on jobs while he was there that he was happy to accommodate. I did need to point out an area that required a second coat which he took care of right away. He's a man of few words and unless you ask he won't go into great detail verbally but his work was well executed. In addition to painting he does drywall and plaster repair. He was easy to get ahold of and called back and kept to the schedule we had set up. In the future I wouldn't hesitate to call him again and already plan on using him this spring for interior work.
