I have held back giving Rydal Optical a negative review for years but today is the day that I will get my last pair of glasses and will no longer order contacts/glasses for my family from here. Let me start off by saying they have a great selection of frames and the convenience of being adjoined to Northern Ophthalmic, that I have been a patient for 40 years. The staff at Rydal Optical leaves a lot to be desired. Some lack personality and others are just downright rude. I looked online and it said they were open till 1pm on Saturday. Take your prescription, if they will give it to you, and run. This is the least professional, rude, overpriced place to buy glasses. Everytime I've given them another chance because I think I've judged them to harshly, they confirm my first opinion. Run away.

I need stronger reading glasses than you can buy in pharmacies and dollar stores, so I purchased a pair of glasses here because they are in the same office as my optometrist. The frames cost $190.00. After only 13 months the frames broke, and according to the clerk could not be repaired. I was shocked and appalled when she told me I would have to buy new frames at a cost of $190.00. I've had dollar store glasses that lasted much longer than 13 months, and the $25.00 pair I bought at CVS are over 3 years old.At the same time, I also bought distance glasses at a cost of $400.00.
