I like Dr. Pam. Granted, I do not have chronic skin issues. I have eczema and it is usually under control. I like that she doesn't call for multiple follow up appointments after the issue has been normalized. She also doesn't do a lot of testing unless it is for something specific. I found the staff polite and efficient. She was recommended to me and I have recommended her to others.

I was a patient here for almost five years, patiently working with Dr. Meyer to do whatever we could to meet my skincare needs. At the beginning, Dr. Meyer helped clear my acne tremendously with benzoyl peroxide prescriptions. I was very much grateful for this! However, a few years later, my skin stopped responding well, and we needed to switch things up. During this time, we slowly (over ~1 year) went through changing my shampoos and make-up, talking about diet and trying 2 new topical medications. Unfortunately, my acne came back worse than ever before. More frustrating than the acne itself was that Dr. Meyer did not seem concerned by these major setbacks. I started to believe that my skin was hard to work with, that I'd just have to learn to live with acne and the worse part: that I didn't deserve to have clear skin. All the while, Dr. Meyer persistently insisted that the practice's products (cleansers, moisturizers) and treatments (chemical peels, laser treatments) were going to help my skin more than the alternatives. Suggestions like these made me distrust the practice especially. After switching to a new dermatologist, I was immediately offered accutane on the first visit. I've been on it for one month, and my skin has never looked better. I'm not sure how long it would have taken me to get to that point with Dr. Meyer. My new doctor focuses much less on product usage and much more on effective medications. Of course, Dr. Meyer may meet you skincare needs better than she did mine depending on your concerns and relationship. But if you are looking for swift results and unbiased opinions about products/treatments, I would keep in mind my story to help save you extra years of potential stagnation.
