The Animal House

We have been taking our pets to The Animal House and have been so pleased with the care that they have received. Nila, the owner, is such a caring and loving person! This past week, our beloved dog passed away. Baxter was 15 years of age. He was a German Shepherd mix. We have been taking him to Nila for many years. He was always so excited to go! The past 2 years he has been getting progressively weaker in his back legs. It was always such a blessing for him to stay there as there were no steps that he had to negotiate. About one week after we left him, we received a call from Nila that he was not doing well and seemed to be losing his ability completely to stand. We were out of state and could not come back so we trusted Nila to keep us updated on his condition. Even though he had one more day of moderate mobility, it soon became apparent that he had lost even his ability to use his front legs. Nila so kindly chose to take him into her home and tended to him as she would her own with unbelievable love, kindness and caring. Thru many tears and discussions, we both decided that the kindest and most humane thing to do was to have him put to sleep. We knew that we could not allow him to suffer or struggle. Nothing was easy with this decision, however, my family and I couldn't have been more relieved that he was being cared for by Nila. She absolutely showered Baxter with love by repositioning him frequently, feeding him special meals and treats, cleaning up after him, playing music for him and sitting with him for hours so that he never felt alone. When he passed, she and a friend dug a grave and she placed a little cross on his gravesite along with daisies. I really can't begin to say enough good things about this dear lady that God allowed to care for our dog in his last days. She is a true friend! We have one more little dog who will also be visiting The Animal House when we have to be away.

My Springer Penny is very skittish and doesn’t do well with change. Nyla spent one on one time with her, initially. She did very well for the week!

I have FOUR babies. Two dogs and two cats To much to talk about. Just have to say IT IS THE ONLY PLACE I WOULD LEAVE THEM.... EVER. WONDERFUL PLACE ❤️❤️❤️🐾🐾🐾💙💙💙
