I started seeing Cathy when I developed severe anxiety after being diagnosed with breast cancer. I contacted a few therapists but was having trouble fitting them into my schedule of endless doctors appointments and a full time job. Then I called Cathy. The first thing she said was “tell me your schedule so we can find something that is easy for you to fit in”. As someone who has suffered from depression most of her life, I knew it was important to find someone that who was knowledgable about the physical and mental rollercoaster I was about to embark on as I tried to wrap my head around my new cancer diagnosis. Cathy was recommended to me by a social worker through Asplundh Cancer Pavilion.The first day I met Cathy, I knew she different from other therapists. Cathy has been my saving grace in navigating through cancer treatment to survivorship, helping in all areas from diet and exercise to managing emotions, especially grief and anger. Her deep understanding of the 'cancer journey' is priceless in the healing process!
