I was a student of NEXTStep starting at 13, and I had no idea at the time how deeply the lessons I learned would stay with me throughout my life.
I became an assistant instructor at 15 and began teaching students of all ages. I continued to teach and learn more about taekwondo as I rise belt ranks and eventually earned my black belt alongside my mother and sister. We were honored to be the first female black belts of each age group at NEXTStep. After leaving the studio at 19 - I took lessons of perseverance, unity, and respect that I carry with me always.
Being a member of the NEXTStep community is something I will never forget.

I joined NextStep in August 2021 to get in better shape and to learn something new. All the instructors are absolutely amazing! Mr. Jay, Miss Julissa and Mr. Chuck are so incredibly skilled and share so much knowledge with their students. They are very patient when training us and encourage us along the way. They challenge the students but make it fun in the process of learning. The classes are not just for younger children. There are kids of all ages, from as young as 3 years old to senior citizens like me. If I am having a difficult day , I feel better just walking in the studio because I feel like I am with family!
