As I am the sole user of this particular toilet in my household, I can guarantee that no paper towels, feminine protection products, or other strange items were ever flushed down the toilet. so you can imagine my surprise when we were woken several nights in a row to a strange gurgling in the toilet.

I live in a condo association and experienced some strange gurgling in my toilet, usually late at night. As I am the sole user of this particular toilet in my household, I can guarantee that no paper towels, feminine protection products, or other strange items were ever flushed down the toilet. so you can imagine my surprise when we were woken several nights in a row to a strange gurgling in the toilet. I called my local plumber, and after speaking to me for a couple minutes, suggested there might be air in the lines. He said rather than spend money for a trip, I might try to run water in the master bath sinks, bathtub, and shower at the same time to see if we could remove the air from the line. I followed his instructions and after running the water in those devices for five minutes, and then flushing the toilet, the gurgling noise continued. Since this did not resolve the problem, I reached out to my plumber again to give him the latest update. He offered to come to my home, to snake all the drains, and the toilet that I had previously run the water in to see if that could clear the situation. In the 45 minutes or so that he was in my home, he ran the water, snaked both sinks, the tub, the toilet, and the shower drain. All the lines came through clean. The charge for this free phone call and major snaking procedure, was just under $120. Unfortunately, two days later the mysterious gurgling occurred again. As I mentioned, previously, we live in a condominium association, so I reached out to our general manager for some advice. My plumber indicated if there's not a clog in the line, which he figured after snaking all the fixtures in our bathroom, he assumed there might be something clogging the stacks, (e.g. a birds nest), and causing the problem in my lines. I reached out to my association manager with this information and within a day, I received a call from Gary at Paul Shank. Gary listened detail to the steps I've already taken and said he would have someone check it out. A few days later two men arrived in my home. I again repeated all the steps that we taken and they said they were here to snake my toilet. Just my toilet. I told them since I've already paid to have that done, I wasn't paying for it again and walked out the room. These two gentlemen removed my toilet from its position, snaked it, and they replaced the toilet and screwed down the bolts. With predictable results, they found no clog. A week later, I received a bill for $585 for the service. I called Gary to express my outrage because yes, my toilet was still gurgling in the middle of the night. Gary assured me that it was a non-issue, because and he used these exact words, " you're not paying the bill, the Association is paying the bill. " I told Gary that I did not appreciate his insinuation, and in fact, the Association passed the bill to me for payment and I can't believe that he charged 5 times more than what my plumber did on a previous visit, and my guy did more work and had more attention to detail. I tried several times to write them and phone calls, but of course they were left unanswered. Please, do not use this plumber. They are clearly unethical, don't care about customer service and refuse to accept your phone calls once the bill has been paid. If I could give them zero stars I would, but Yelp will not let me do that.

Plumber was servicing a townhome unit behind mine for a constant flushing sound. He couldn't find a problem and so came to mine to check the noise. It was worded as the HOA plumber wanted to inspect, as in, the HOA covers the costs.I fixed the issue by myself before he arrived and he never stated that I would be billed. He spent less than 10mins looking at the toilets and adjusted a flush chain. Got an invoice for $165.I don't believe he's an actual plumbing company but some guy connected to HOAs that force his services. Blatant corruption.
