if I could give 0 stars I would. Do not go to this dentist. I was told I needed two crowns. When I got to the appointment AFTER they numbed me up they decided I needed another procedure which my insurance company did not cover so that added over $700 to my bill and they wouldn't do my crowns unless I had this procedure. I stupidly paid and got the crowns. I paid my copay and the money for that procedure both of which were well over $1,500. Ok fine whatever. I learn that my insurance isn't going to pay anything for the crowns and I owe an extra $623 because the crowns were not medically necessary. Then the price that I owed went up to $700 something and peggy (the receptionist I think that's her name) tried to bully me into paying the whole amount right on the phone. I declined and said I would pay $100 a week and she gave me the worst attitude about it. So turns out they never appealed to the insurance company and Peggy TOLD me my insurance doesn't even pay for more than 1 crown. so why did they insist I get 2?!?! They do unnecessary procedures and bully you to pay. I will never step foot in this place again and I suggest you stay far away.
Some time ago, I was denied service because I wouldn't wear a face diaper while I walked 5 feet down the hallway to my dental chair, where the dentist would ultimately have his hands in my mouth. Now that we all know how ridiculous that was, in light of the fact that masks don't work, I'm quite sure this establishment no longer enforces this silly little rule. So I just want to say to the less than lovely receptionist who couldn't explain why a mask was necessary... I TOLD YOU! I told you then how ridiculous you were being and you argued with me. You were wrong. Now you know.
I've been going to American Dental for 5 years now. About a year ago, administration changed hands. My dentist (who is good at her job) is still there, but that doesn't make up for the company's carelessness and inefficiencies. At the minor end, it took me literally 15 mins to cancel an appointment after a neverending string of questions about my identity. At the more serious end, already three times this year they have tried to charge me twice for an expensive procedure that I had already paid for. If I had assumed they were correct and not taken the trouble to prove they weren't, I would have been out another several thousand dollars. As soon as my current series of appointments for a complicated implant are over, I'm finding myself a new dentistry. I do not trust these people one bit.
