“30 years ago, I walked into this shop as an 18 year old that just got out of Boot Camp. I had been stationed at the Philadelphia Navy Ship Yard, and my first night out on my own…. I found Philadelphia Eddies. After hanging out with a few of the artists and customers for a couple of hours I made an appointment with Chris Henry, who the very next day gave me my first tattoo.

In my time in the Navy stationed in Philadelphia, I got 3 tattoos from Philadelphia Eddies.

Last week I made it back to Philadelphia for the first time since I was stationed there. While I was excited about going to Eddies to get some ink, I was nervous about it because I knew it would be completely different people than I knew 30 years ago. I called both locations on 4th street, and I was really disappointed with the response that I got from the other shop a few doors down that flys the Philadelphia Eddies flag, they were short, and seemed put out to even talk to me about what I wanted done, like they just didn’t care.

I decided to stop into this shop just to reminisce a little. There we were meet by Kelly, who was AWESOME. She took the time to hear my stories about my history in the shop, and was absolutely interested in our business. She introduced us to Jason, who did a new tattoo for me. We were so impressed with these two that my Girlfriend had Jason do one for her too.
