Natural Lands' Bryn Coed Preserve is a beautiful spot for a longer hike. With plenty of parking, visitors can choose from various trails, including the yellow loop and red trail, which offer varying levels of difficulty. The red trail is the most challenging, with dense forest and inclines. The purple trails are also available, offering a mix of beginner and more advanced terrain. The preserve is well-marked, with excellent signage and a helpful app that provides a short synopsis of the preserve, mileage, and a tracker. Visitors can explore rolling hills, forests, and cleared pathways, with signs of spring beginning to emerge. With over 7 miles of trails to explore, Bryn Coed Preserve is a great destination for those looking to hike more than 5 miles.

From Natural Lands' Bryn Coed Preserve

nown as Bryn Coed—which means “wooded hill” in Welsh. In doing so, we saved one of the largest remaining unprotected swaths of land in the greater Philadelphia region from becoming a housing development. The preserve includes a Pennsylvania Champion white oak, the headwaters of the Pickering Creek, and several Bald Eagle nesting spots. Miles of hiking trails meander past 19th century stone farmhouses, historical ruins, and other remnants of the land’s agricultural past.
