Whipkey Construction just finished replacing the front porch of 146 W Franklin Street after a car damaged the left front corner and left the rest of the porch weakened. The replacement was done correctly with supports set in cement and good strong joists put into place. The columns and porch rail system is fiberglass material whose design replicates the original 1900 design. New wooden front steps are level and uniform height which surpasses the old cement steps. The newel posts at the bottom of the steps are an architectural statement piece leading up to the columns and rail system. I couldn’t be more pleased. Other ceiling and soffit work needs done at another time. I would recommend Whipkey Construction for other structural and design work.
