“I am not very good at making ahead appointments for haircuts and I called this morning and they were able to schedule us within the hour for my toddler son. We saw David who was absolutely wonderful with my son. He was incredibly patient and empathic that my child was scared of getting his hair cut. He showed him how soft the scissors and razors were first before using them on his head. He gave him a comb to hold and a holder for my phone to play videos. He reminded me while my son was getting emotional that it's part of the human experience and it really was something I needed to hear. I look forward to my son having a regular barber! All around very caring and exceptional service. Highly recommend and will definitely go back.“

“1st time, I live locally but been using a different spot (they moved during covid). Appointments are preferable to mgmt. You can roll the dice and Walk-in but appointments come 1st. Interestingly knowing I made an appointment, Not with her, an available stylist/barber openly (loudly so all present could hear) called my name then said, “ready you can come with…”
I interrupted, “are you the person I made the appointment with?” This awkward moment was unprofessional, I should have never been put in that position that forced me to tell her no thank I’ll wait for the person I booked my appointment with. - - -

To do what she did she must first show respect to the chosen Stylist and more importantly to the customer.

The professional way to attempt to speed up my wait time (which for some could/might be a priority) she should have approached me quietly saying, “are you Mr. Gilbert, I see you booked an appointment with (name here) if you would like to get your haircut now I am available, my name is (name here) but it’s perfectly fine to wait for who you booked with - would you like to get your haircut now?”

That would have been a nice offer, very professional & not awkward at all. To assume speed is more important than getting the quality of who a customer booked with is foolish. She was not on the website, I did not recognize her and she did not introduce herself first - etiquette, please.

OK, Alexa (the Stylist not the Amazon assistant :0) was very nice. Easy to talk to - which really is a skill finding commonality and talking with your client (a person you don’t really know) for 20 to 30 minutes. Alexa’s skills were easy and smooth, my hair was pretty ragged after not seeing a barber (doing it myself for 2+ yrs) she cleaned me up quite nicely. I am pleased and have found my new stylist - highly recommended. While I was there I saw small children 5/6 yrs old, young adults 19-24 & well seasoned men late 40s - early 60s. Cuts are $30. and I saw tips ranging from 5 to 10 dollars - seems the going rate these days. No hair washing & the blow dryer is for removing cut hair from your collar.

Alexa offered to trim ears & eyebrows I’m assuming they do beards idk. Here’s what’s missing: my reg spot was “ Troncelliti’s” barbershop in Wynnewood. They are also an only men barbershop, at the end of the cut after cut hair has been blown off they have a warm shaving cream dispenser and shave the back of your neck - then wipe clean with a warm towel. WOW! I definitely miss that, trimmers simply can’t get that close. So that hair will grow back much faster. Almost worth the drive out to Wayne their new location.

Anyway Benny’s is great and gets the job done - strangely an all female crew cutting men’s hair - Troncelliti’s an all older Italian men cutting men’s hair was very cool atmosphere, so Benny’s has a more feminine feel no Boys Club testosterone here, oh well :0) as long as the hair looks great I’m in :0) Tks Alexa for a great cut and a very comfortable 1st time. As Arnold would say, I’ll be back…“
