No gym-timidation here! There are few places in the area where my 85 year-old father, big sister, and myself can work out and be positively pushed to our fitness limits. The trainers are so good at putting together workouts that increase performance levels, while keeping us safe from injury. They don't tell you what to do and walk away. They teach you the correct way, allowing you to push yourself physically and become stronger--It's actually really rewarding. They have group fitness classes too. A good mix of cardio and weight training. The spin bikes are awesome! Just like real bikes that move with you. It's definitely a better workout...and a calorie burner! I highly recommend this gym over any in the area. No workout is the same. It's a great community of really great people!
Just finished my first workout here. Very nice place with a ton of activities going on, kids soccer etc. The gym equipment was really good, most of them were new instruments. Well ventilated and not too crowded, probably its the time I went. Very happy that I found this gym.
I can really only review portions of the facility since I only play soccer there once a week, but overall it's a decent place. I've played soccer at so many countless facilities over the years, and very few of them are pristine, state-of-the-art sporting facilities, so it's easy for me to overlook the crumbling ceilings and beat up feeling you get when looking at the old, dented ventilation ducts, worn netting, etc. I will say that over the years of playing there, they've really improved the building, though. The turf was replaced on both fields and they've really taken the back field and turned it into a nice sports training facility. While I only play soccer there, I've seen volleyball practices, basketball, and even badminton going down on the court portion of the facility. They have softball training the back side of the building It's definitely more of a sports facility than a gym in my mind, which isn't a bad thing at all. It's also why the vibe is completely different than your LA Fitnesses of the world. If there was any complaint that I would have it's their lower level bathrooms/locker rooms. I hope they're planning to update those at some point, too, as they're definitely in need of some love. I'm not sure why people training there are capable of squatting 400 pounds, dunking a basketball or kicking a soccer ball 60 mph into the top corner of a goal, but can't flush a toilet. Something as small as automatic flush sensors, alone, would be a godsend for the smell and sense of sanitation of the locker rooms. Regardless, I'm there to train once a week, and the facilities have always been perfect for that. Also, the people that I know who have gone to some of the classes only have positive things to say about the instruction, cost, and quality. Definitely worth checking out, especially if you're in the Greentree area.
