“This was one of the cleanest most organized gym I have been to. Dan trained me one on one and I was so impressed by the knowledge he had. He used simple movements to train me but they seemed to be working every fiber in my muscles. I also received an hour long massage by Igor, he was incredible! He knew exactly which muscles were tight and was able to release a lot of tension! This place is a hidden gem in Pittsburg! The staff are very experienced and knowledgeable!“

“Lisa and Emelia at Touchstone Pilates have given me the ability to participate in my life again. Due to spinal issues that limited my mobility and caused debilitating pain, I spent the better part of two years in physical therapy but still had many limitations. I consulted with two spinal surgeons who both recommended spinal fusion surgery. A strong core helps with the recovery process after spinal surgery, so I called Lisa at Touchstone Pilates. Lisa instructed me over a decade ago and I knew she was extremely knowledgeable, focused and detail oriented as a Pilates instructor. The amount of knowledge she has about classical pilates and how it relates to the body never ceases to amaze me. After a few months working with Lisa, I felt so much better so I added an additional class with Emelia. She is an asset to Touchstone Pilates and I continue to benefit from her instruction. “If you are looking for an old-school bodybuilding gym, or a place to lift weights that isn’t a sterile/generic feeling commercial gym — this is the place. All of the staff here is wonderful, friendly, and helpful. This gym uses metal weights (which is hard to come across these days) and has a good variety of machines. One of my favorite aspects of the gym are the trophies and posters that cover almost every inch of the walls. This place has a lot of history, and the staff that work here have a lot of passion for weightlifting (and the Bloomfield/PGH community in general). If you are looking to join a gym that actually has purpose, look no further. Despite being more old-school, everything is maintained very well. Only downside might be the bathroom, because it isn’t large, but that’s not the reason you go here. I would recommend this place to just about anyone, I even bring my dad when he visits because he likes it so much.“

“No gym-timidation here! There are few places in the area where my 85 year-old father, big sister, and myself can work out and be positively pushed to our fitness limits. The trainers are so good at putting together workouts that increase performance levels, while keeping us safe from injury. They don't tell you what to do and walk away. They teach you the correct way, allowing you to push yourself physically and become stronger--It's actually really rewarding. They have group fitness classes too. A good mix of cardio and weight training. The spin bikes are awesome! Just like real bikes that move with you. It's definitely a better workout...and a calorie burner! I highly recommend this gym over any in the area. No workout is the same. It's a great community of really great people!“
“I have been training off and on since my 20s. After my cancer diagnosis and treatments 9 years ago, no matter how much I dieted and exercised, I couldn’t lose more than 10 pounds. This caused me to get discouraged and give up. My kids and I moved to Washington 3 years ago, and I decided it was time to get back to the gym. I found Ron on a Google search and after reading all of his positive Google reviews, I decided to give him a call.
Ron was both professional and encouraging. He took the time to listen to my personal goals. He helped me tweak my diet to put me in a calorie deficit. He has helped me gain mobility and strength that I was fearful I would never get back. We do monthly weigh-ins and body fat analysis to see progress.
Ron has tailored a fitness routine around a bad hip and we do what we can. He has motivated me but never pushed me to be in pain. I look forward to my 2 sessions every week and I can tell I am gaining muscle and strength. I am 5 pounds away from a goal weight I haven’t been at since my 20s. I am very grateful for Ron and all of his knowledge.“
“I tried a few gyms over the years and this one is definitely the best!! very clean it's never crowded when I go early in the a.m. the staff are very nice and friendly highly recommend this place they have a lot of equipment and free weights as well. Parking is inside which is a plus and it's free to park in the garage.“
