I brought my dog homer in after a serious injury (paraphimosis). We were told by most that he would need an amputation, a costly surgery that wasn't a sure success. After bringing homer in, the staff welcomed us in with open arms and promptly assisted homer, they suggested a surgery to attempt to fix it. At the time is was already pretty bad, unlike anything I have seen before and to be honest it didn't seem like his chances were great. They performed the surgery, and had him come in for constant checkups for a month straight, always working around our busy schedules.
