Dr. Christiansen and Dr. Hamilton are fantastic! They are kind, caring, and not trying to see how high they can get your bill. They are the only doctors I care to see there. Dr. Hamilton cares for my diabetic cat and is amazing with allowing home testing and let's me control it the best I can with her help. Emergency visits for "current patients only" is why they lost a star. I've had two friends with suffering (close to death) pets that needed PTS and they refused both. That's just awful.
I'm basing my review on my experiences with Drs. Christiansen and Hamilton because I heard far too many people say Dr. Corbett has a terrible attitude and I refused to subject my pets to him. Overall, these guys are good for the most basic of veterinary concerns. Dr. Christiansen and Dr. Hamilton are both very kind, gentle people who obviously love animals. Their competence can be hit and miss, however. Like them refusing to tell me my dog was dying and in pain because they felt I wasn't ready to hear that, so my poor dog had to suffer at home for longer than she should have instead of them just telling me to let her go. I was far more upset over being lied to about how bad my dog really was than the thought of letting her go. Or when I brought in another pet with digestive issues and they pushed a prescription food on me that was the precise thing I told them she was having problems eating (big shock, she had problems eating the prescription food). I also think they really need to know when to pick their battles and refer people to clinics with more advanced testing and facilities instead of just blindly doing random tests and treatments. This, again, is hit and miss for them. Sometimes they acknowledge that whatever is the matter is beyond their ability to treat, and sometimes they just throw crap at the wall to see what sticks, and only after nothing works do they tell you to go to someplace with better options like Cornell. I realize our pets can't tell us how they feel, but if these vets don't know what's wrong, they need to work on saying that so people can get their pets treatment elsewhere instead of making them suffer for longer. So if you just want to take your pet in for simple things like spaying/neutering, checkups, dietary issues and so forth, this place is just fine (as long as you don't see Dr. Corbett).
