My dad passed away in March 2024. He had not yet filed his taxes for 2023 tax year. I gathered all of his documents along with a copy of his death certificate, Letters Testmentary appointing myself as personal representative, the estate bank account information and took them to Porth and Unrein who had processed his taxes in years passed. I was a loyal client of Cherry City Tax Service for many years. When they sold the business to Mackey Porth & Unreign CPAs, it was my hope that I would experience the same customer service. My first call to them today was met with a person who clearly didn’t want to have a conversation about taking on my business even though I had asked prior to starting if now was a good time to call to discuss my account. They replied with the question “ what do you want?” The response was so jarring and tone of the voice so negative it told me that this was not the place I should entrust with my my finances.
