After my wife and I left the military, I opened my own practice and she started a managerial position in a local hospital. With more complex finances, we knew we needed someone we could trust and who had the skill set to manage them (a task we didn't have the bandwidth to learn in addition to our own responsibilities). Jamison Hanson was referred to us by a friend and his father who were already clients, and I appreciated the firm's methodical approach. They use a calculated risk at a level we were comfortable with at each stage of life. Money management is all about managing risk and minimizing expenses in the process. Not having a financial background, I have benefited greatly from what I have learned through our partnership with Steven Jamison. I don't feel comfortable with the black box approach to decision-making where I put in money and hopefully more comes out. At every meeting there's a new detail of the evolving tax law and our changing financial situation, which leads to a range of choices to better position ourselves in our retirement. Steven's explanations increase our understanding of our finances, which helps us make the best choice consistent with our goals. We have recommended Steven to multiple people. I believe his greatest selling point is that I trust him! With his measured approach to management, I don't feel like we are gambling; we are managing risk.
