“My dearest community,
If you have ever struggled with being validated by standard medicine, your community, or yourself, please do your mind, body, and soul the honor of scheduling an appointment with Nicki McDaniel. Please do your mind, body, and soul the honor of relinquishing any preconceived or learned notions that having a physical therapist should solely be a curative option, and not also a preventative one. While in session with Nicki, she begins her practice by facilitating a mind-connection through thoughtful and intellectual dialogue, and follows this by channeling a body-connection through energy and Reiki healing. This, in summation, is what Nicki does in her practice; yet the true healing process that results from her sessions is a masterpiece beyond the grasp of my personal lexicon.
In my attempts to encapsulate the profound influence that Nicki McDaniel has had on my life, I sought out the aid of my “aspirational library.”
In the Awakening, Kate Chopin boldly wrote of a woman who had “perceived that her will had blazed up, stubborn and resistant. She could not... have done other than denied and resisted... She could not realize why or how she should have yielded.”
At the age of nineteen, I was fortunate enough to learn of the power within the things we feel resistant toward. Through a series of seminars, I learned that in the moments where we feel resistance, there is a signal that relays a message—resistance precedes an opportunity to grow. Opening and responding to this message is always a choice, one that is often made when certain aspects of the nervous system are aligned. While functioning in the sympathetic nervous system, it is natural to respond to a message through a modality of fight-or-flight. While functioning in the parasympathetic nervous system, it is natural to respond to a message through a modality of being quiet, of being still, of being within one’s self, opposed to being outside of one’s self and looking within. This state of being exists when one is able to adjust and remove interference from the nervous system through healing methods, i.e., physical therapy and reiki. This knowledge aided in rekindling my fiery and stubborn demeanor, while also helping to nurture my longing for solutions to the chronic conditions I was experiencing at such a young age.
Eckhart Tolle, in the Power of Now, aptly states how “it seems that most people need to experience a great deal of suffering before they will relinquish resistance.”
I can attest to two things: I have experienced a great deal of suffering, and it was when I relinquished my resistance toward naturopathic healing, I was finally able to find Nicki, allowing myself to begin my true healing journey.
“Stressful thoughts reflect a conflict with reality. Stress happens when the mind resists what is.” Within the Way of the Peaceful Warrior, Dan Millman provides a reminder that our mind and our body are constantly sending us signals—of joy, of fear, of hope—and we are only able to truly adapt to reality when we have an awareness of these signals.
The disciplined mental and physical practices that Nicki taught me helped guide me in connecting my mind with my body so that I may listen and respond to sensations I experience. The initial moments of our first ninety-minute session together cultivated a feeling of resistance more powerful than I had felt before. Fortunately, for me, this sensation was welcomed and encouraged by my prior teachings. Following our first session, I left with a list of books to add to my library, and a desire to immediately take off on my adventure. I crossed back over the threshold into the world feeling more lovable, capable, magnificent, and whole than I had ever felt before. I now existed in the world knowing that the universe had gifted me the perfect partner to walk next to on my journey. I now existed in the world having the faith that I could live my life as a powerful and re“
“Nikki is really great at what she does. I love working with her. She is attentive and listens to what I'm saying and what my body is saying, too. Nikki has a way of finding the problem area even when you can't pinpoint it yourself. I've been to her throughout my pregnancy and postpartum. She has lots of different skills and techniques to get to the heart of the issue. I always walk away feeling better. Massages with Nikki are the best I have ever had. Even though she no longer takes my insurance (Cigna), I pay cash because I don't want to waste my time with anyone else. Nikki provides suggestions when appropriate - like when she thinks it's worthwhile to go to a physical therapist or a specific stretch to try at home.“
“They gave me the right therapy to get back to an active life, now i am back to running and playing sports.“
“Excellent experience. Thorough, knowledgeable, experienced.
I began to see results right away.“
“Going to PT 360 was one of the most positive experiences I’ve had since hurting my back earlier this year. I was desperately trying to find a PT that could help me relieve the pain I had even just a bit and then I found PT 360. Erich completely changed my perspective on how to deal with a back injury and even having dealt with a similar experience it was comforting having someone else understand what it’s like dealing with back pain. His manipulation techniques and knowledge of injuries is one of a kind. Caitlin has one of the brightest personalities you’ll meet and makes going to PT so much more enjoyable with her attitude and willingness to help you with any questions you might have. Erich and Caitlin made physical therapy an activity I actually looked forward to every time and I’m sad they are leaving, however, they made a huge impact on me and I’m forever grateful for their help. Thanks Caitlin and Erich!“
“The therapists and techs are so skilled and knowledgeable. I really appreciate those who I worked with here-Alex, John, Peggy, Celena, and Mykala. The receptionist is also great! Highly recommend!“
