“Awesome, easy to follow instructors who give lots of helpful reading material. This is one of the only places I could find offering owner-included training classes, and it's already made such a difference for my dog and me!“
“I brought my 3 year old Doberman in for their 4 week program just hoping that they could help me and her. I had gone through other training companies before and nothing seemed to work. Khloe was a biter, very anxious, and very reactive to anything that moved. After our 4 week stay Khloe is now able to walk past dogs and squirrels with no issues, she obeys the commands given and walks without pulling when needed. Khloe now has a little puppy in our household which she is able to play with and love with no reactivity! This was such a great experience for both her and I! Not only did she learn so much but I have too. Thank you to kindred dog training for giving my life back as well as khloe! We are far from done with training but your program has given us the resources and training to continue to grow together.“
“Highly recommend both for boarding and training. My dog loves coming here and I know he's well taken care of when I travel.“
“Mark gave us some great training and techniques to discourage our golden retriever puppy from biting and nipping. She was overconfident and bratty, and clearly loved the taste of human flesh. Three days later, little Ruby (a.k.a. Rampage) is a different dog. Now she is a sweetheart most of the time. When she does start to throw a tantrum, she listens to the command and dials down quickly. Thanks, Mark! We love not bleeding.“
“A fantastic dog sitter with all the amenities.Whether you're looking for someone to keep an eye on your dog for a few hours or someone to keep care of your sweetest little mutt overnight, The Woof-Tastic playhouse is the right choice. You can even sign up to give your little puppy a treat in the middle of the day.The staff is always friendly and willing to answer any questions you may have.“
“This was a couple of months back but Risa helped us so much with our little doggo Toby! We were at a lost on how to train him more as we wanted to bring him with us everywhere we go, but he was way too anxious and would constantly bark and panic when outside. Risa gave us a lot of insight into why Toby felt the way he did, and showed us great examples of how to train him. She also took note when he was done, and never pushed him beyond that, and told us to do the same.
We've followed all her trainings the past months and I'm so happy to say Toby is a much more confident pupper than I ever expected him to be! He walks confidently in unknown areas, and by using the "yep" commands well, he's been starting to bark less at people. He loves going outside now! We've been able to bring him to so many places, it's like he's no longer that scared and anxious pup I once saw! He still has much to go, but my family's so happy we can bring Toby now on our adventures. Thank you so much for your help and great training, if we get stuck again and plateau, I'll be sure to call once more :) Great training place everyone!“
“I have used Wendy’s services for both daycare and overnight care and I cannot say enough great things about her! I have a bit of an anxious pup who doesn’t really like playing with other dogs and has separation anxiety. Wendy has done so much to go out of her way to make my dog feel comfortable and cared for. It's not easy to leave your dog when you know she is anxious but Wendy makes it so much easier with frequent texts and photos and by being so gentle and accommodating!“
“I adopted a very shy, scared adult kitty, Cady, in March who had been in and out of a shelter and foster care for over a year. She spent the first three months with me under the bed. I travel quite a bit and had taken my previous cat to Pounce for four years so was familiar with their loving care.
After a couple of stays at Pounce Cady started to spend more of her time out from under the bed at home coming to me for pets but never purring or getting on my lap. I brought Cady home three days ago after her stay at Pounce and she now lays on my lap purring her little heart out. I don’t believe she would have blossomed so quickly (seven months) if it weren’t for all the love she got from Windy, Lexie, and Jaiden at Pounce. They are the best!“
“Betsy and Amelia with Bowser’s Best Buddy are a cut above the rest. I see how much genuine love and care they show my pup, while offering positive and consistent training. My dog Otis attends their day program and has truly blossomed, from an excitable 1 year old adolescent to a well rounded, friendly, obedient member of their pack. Betsy has offered such valuable recommendations on how I could continue the training approach at home to keep advancing his knowledge. I found Betsy as I looked for a day program that wasn’t a larger scale “daycare” space. Betsy did a careful screening to make sure Otis would fit well with the other dogs and slowly folded Otis into the mix. Now that Otis is a “regular,” it gives me peace of mind that any newcomers to the program will be similarly vetted and introduced. A year into attending the day program, Otis is thriving and I am so grateful for the Bowser’s team (Finn, the elder pup, included!)“
“Super glad I chose this service, Michelle makes it easy to communicate with her through text or through phone calls. Her home is warm and inviting and you can instantly see her passion and love for parrots! She surprised us with preparing chop to my parrotlet!! Ripley came back to us as we left her. I think she loved the socialization of being around other birds and apparently she even warmed up to Michelle after a few days. If you can win over a parrotlet, you’re a true “bird whisperer” ? Thanks so much!!“
“Doug was recommended to me by a trainer I have been using for twenty plus years. My service dog was missing his siblings after their death and had become dog reactive. Doug walked with me to observe what was going on in my neighborhood. He gave me a procedure to follow and in no time my goldendoodle was ignoring other dogs. Once that was perfected around our complex we went to a nearby park and he walked with me to practice on unruly dogs. Gibbs was taking their ill behavior as an opportunity to play. I am in a wheelchair and he adjusted for my disability. He is a very pleasant person to learn from and we both enjoyed our training sessions. My service dog is an important part of my independence and Dougs' extensive knowledge of dog behavior gave us a tune up on how to handle this one issue as well as general helpful hints on everyday life with a 90lb dog.“
“Mary Ellen takes the best care of my dogs, so much that the youngest would happily stay there forever. Great pick up/drop off process. Excellent communication and scheduling is easy, daycare or boarding. So glad to have stumbled across her place years ago!“
“Dog connection is our preferred daycare in the north Portland area. The owner is very knowledgeable about dog behavior and care and always communicates how our dog was during his time there (unlike some other daycares in which you're expected to pay extra for any information about their day, which is a little much and feels very impersonal). He gives helpful suggestions as well which is a great indicator that he not only knows and understands our dog but actually cares about his wellbeing. Additionally, our dog has some medical issues that the owners have dealt with in stride and we are truly so appreciative of them for it. I highly recommend this business as you can really trust that your dog is in good hands!“
“We love Ruff House so so much, because our pup loves Ruff House so much! She literally runs to the door when we arrive. She has learned the word “daycare,” which we’ve learned not to say until a few minutes before we leave to head over, because she gets too excited. The staff are incredible, everything is clean and organized, there’s a great, fenced (turf) outdoor space with a hose for the hot summer days, they work on a trick of the month, and they clip our pup’s nails with ease (not easy—I’ve tried). Not to mention!!! They make cards for your doggos birthday! Complete with all their friends’ paw prints. We can’t say enough wonderful things about this place. ?“
“TL;DR Dr. Beswick is super caring, takes his time, the entire atmosphere is calming and comfortable, it's clean.
First time visiting this clinic with my new kitty Tanner, based on the reviews and the number of positive reviews. This is the best vet clinic I've ever been to. Dr Beswick listened to the questions I had and answered all of them.
From the front desk staff, vet techs, and doctor, everyone was so chill, definitely all the Portland vibes, and kitty was comfortable.
Thanks again for the great first visit and I will definitely be back.“
“Happy Go Lucky has been instrumental in helping us train and engage with our young, high energy dog. The trainers are very experienced and helped our dog learn impulse control, leash manners and more confidence in social play. We highly recommend Happy Go Lucky for anyone who needs training assistance!“
“Finding Wes at Canine Class Room was such a relief in our dog training journey. His methods were easy to understand and implement, and we saw immediate results with just 20 minutes of daily practice. It felt almost too simple given the significant improvement in our dog's behavior. He and his Dad have been in the industry for years, so they have the real world experience to know what works well and what to avoid. If you're looking for a dog trainer who can truly make a difference, Wes is your guy.“
“Staff very friendly and helpful. Recognized pets names and needs. Definitely Dog lovers“
“I had puppy fever one day and bought a GSD pup from someone in the classifieds. Needless to say that was a huge mistake and my puppy had all sorts of behavior problems. I was going to try and just youtube my way through training but as he got bigger I got worried and reached out for some training.I reached out to 3 different trainers that I found from a google search. All three told me they suggested a 2 week board and train for 2000$ and promised my pup would be fixed.First of all I wasn't looking to just hand off my pup to some stranger to "fix" all his problems. Paul only suggested board and train when we had exhausted other avenues and my pup was still having negative behavior. eventually I did do a two week board and train with Paul and my pup came back with his manners! I was super impressed.Next Paul doesn't guarantee his training is going to "fix" the problem, and this makes so much sense because you cannot predict how the animal is going to learn and what other issues maybe going on. You also can't predict if puppy parents are going to go home and do their homework. I respected the honesty from him on that.Paul has been training and taking care of dogs for 20 plus years! He is knowledgeable, has a huge heart for animals, and is a no BS kind of guy. If you need dog training come see this guy!“
“Nicole Flowers is an excellent dog trainer. I highly recommend her services for any type of issue you and your dog are facing. I am with a Weimaraner rescue organization and we have hired Nicole to help us help dogs in foster and adoptive homes, and even to help dog owners who were considering surrendering their dogs to us when what they needed was a good trainer to help them. Common issues we hire Nicole for are leash reactivity, dog aggression, over protective with human, and obsessive/compulsive behavior (with people and food).Nicole's strengths are:* Experience - she has seen it all and been involved in animal training for many years.* Creative solutions - she does not presume to have the immediate solution; she spends time with the dog to understand the issue and then considers what will most likely work and modifies the training as she goes along. The results to her approach are amazing!* Professionalism, reliability and communication. Nicole listens very well to each detail the dog owner provides and explains her training approach so it is easy to follow for someone not familiar with dog training.I can truly say that in several cases where we hired Nicole, I do not know what we'd have done without her. In every case she made a positive impact for the dog and the people involved. 100% success in every case.“
“Rose City Veterinary as been my Vets for almost 20 years. They're like family. And I really appreciate them all!“
“I had the best experience with Molly. She helped me raise my mastiff puppy into a gentle, well-mannered, and well-adjusted big guy. She provided valuable insights and creative solutions during challenging developmental stages, and also equipped me with the tools to read his behavior and resolve challenges on my own. Molly completely changed the way I understand dog training -- she helped me raise a dog who's a good listener because he trusts and respects me, not because he fears me or consequences. She's also a kind human being, clear and direct communicator, and a joy to work with. 100% recommend.“
“We love this place. Our cats were immediately exploring their new surroundings. And yes, we will absolutely bring our kitties back whenever we're in Portland. Truly the best, and Anya is lovely, accommodating, knowledgeable, and a cat person at heart. We don't live in Portland, so we're a bit sad that we can't use this spot as our regular kitty hotel. We have had our cats in a variety of spots, but none match the Meowhaus experience.“
“I can't say enough about this company, or their trainers/behavioralists. My partner and I worked with Jennifer and Caroline, and they were truly our angels as we navigated the very sad and confusing road of trying to manage our loving, yet aggressive/reactive dog. The damage caused by our rescue (who has normally sweet and submissive) was repetitive and severe enough that we eventually settled on behavioral euthanasia to prevent more harm to both family and strangers. And, as a mercy to our little guy who could not make peace with the world due to severe abuse he experienced in his past. This decision was only made after a LOT of other steps, time, safety measures, considerations, consultations, etc. were made. The decision to move forward with BE is one I would NEVER wish on my worst enemy. Almost a month later, our hearts are still very much broken over the loss, and there is a lot of guilt/shame that goes along with the overall sense of grief. It feels very different than euthanizing a pet who is physically suffering or in pain. Caroline gave us so much support, love, encouragement, and resources during this time. She never judged us, made us feel guilty, or made us feel that we were failing our dog. I don't think we could have navigated this horrible situation without her. And, to me, that matters so much more than someone being helpful and supportive during the "good times." I'll never forget this group of incredible people, and will forever be grateful to them for all the compassion and care they gave to me, my family, and my loyal friend and companion, UNO.“
“My wife and I were feeling hopeless when it came to boarding our mini Goldendoodle. It was difficult to find a good location, fair pricing and someone trustworthy to take care of our pup when we were out of town. Finally we came across Holly’s website and were immediately intrigued. We reached out and Holly was so responsive and caring. We got a meet and greet scheduled right away and it went amazing. Holly and her family are so welcoming and easy to communicate with. It has been such a relief to have found Holly and now we always know we have a reliable plan for where our dog will stay when we need help with her. Our favorite part is the daily photo updates we get from Holly when she is watching our dog ♥️ thank you, Holly!“
