I was hired by Seth Mazur in April and he wanted me to drop what I was doing to help him with property on Whidbey Island. Our employees dropped what they were doing to help, and he passed on the bill to the seller. She said it was never talked about and refused to pay... After several emails, texts, and phone calls, he never replied and ghosted us. Not very honest service!
Michael Smira, an agent with the NE Portland group, was the buyer's agent for a house I'm selling. His client presented an FHA offer, which I rejected, so they amended the offer saying that they will secure conventional financing, which I accepted. Two days before closing, I discovered that they never intended to secure conventional financing, and that an FHA appraisal was conducted on the home, which reduced the value of my home over $15K from their offer. The paper trail suggests that this was done intentionally, I guess in the hope that I would just "eat" the reduced value, due to the much more strict guidelines of FHA financing. I will not, and I will be suing John L. Scott, with the help of my real estate team at Keller Williams. This "bait and switch" scheme is highly unethical, and they have breached the terms of our contract.
My wife and I hired Gail Worrell and have regretted it ever since. She violated the cardinal rule of real estate agents, do not over price a home. She did just that!!! The market put our house at $335k, she came for her interview and plugged in all the improvements we did and told us our home was worth $360k, and trusting her, we listed it at that amount. It took three weeks of 0 bites before Gail finally gave me the "counseling" we deserved from day one, and she admitted same in our telephone conversation. Three weeks into the listing we were doomed. Her constant berating of my wife and I about new kitchen, new floors, new paint on walls, etc. was necessary to sell the house and that NO ONE cared about the key improvements we did on the house. And yet those improvements and how we took care of our home was PRECISELY why the buyers made an offer and wanted our home. That offer was for $325k and Gail did NOTHING to fight for us to get a higher price at the true market value, $335k. Her communication with us was lacking, her ability to remember details worse, her attitude towards me unprofessional, and her laziness in doing anything beyond depending on the internet listing to sell our home was not surprising. It was all a completely unsatisfying experience that cost us nearly $25,000!!!!! $10,000 in her unearned commission, more than $4k in new flooring, hundreds in paint and my wife's sweat blood and tears unnecessarily painting walls that the buyers just repainted, and $10k less on the listed price that matched the market price. Think twice before hiring Gail Worrell. She will not work for you, will not counsel you, and will always expect her full commission despite her lack luster unprofessional performance.
