I have been to Aveda Institute three times now and have had my hair cut by Josie and Hope and get blonde highlights from Gina & every time my experience was incredible! Everyone is so professional and the staff come by to check the progress several times throughout your appointment and the students ask you many questions at the beginning of the appointment to get a holistic image of your hair so you don’t have to be worried about getting a cut or color you don’t like. The only thing is that you won’t necessarily actually get the student that you booked the appointment with - this happened to me twice. Thankfully, I’ve been lucky to get great students every time!

I cannot speak highly enough about Nikki L and Sami M at the Portland location of the Aveda Institute! these fabulous stylists colored my 14 year old daughters hair via foil/highlights and were incredible! they were professional, focused, very kind and personable, and I could see throughout (especially by the end) that THIS IS THEIR LIFE CALLING! Truly talented stylists who we will definitely want to follow after they graduate!!!! Hopefully they stay local?!!! Incredible work! my daughter is over the top happy with her hair as she adapts to a new middle school and wow, this hair will certainly help!!! The whole experience was great! From check in, to the waiting area, to the service and upon exit. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Solanna did an amazing job trimming my hair, and then adding my long layers to bring life back into my hair! Thank you so much!!! Went back and got color by Nikki and she SLAYED! So happy with my hair!!!
