Someone named Devin Keith contacted me on a Saturday about a proofreader position. It was a scam. We chatted over Microsoft Teams. He said that they would send me a check via PDF, scan the check, and deposit it on my mobile app. Total scammer. If they contact you on the weekend or if they tell you that they want you to scan a check, you are being frauded.
Definitely a SCAM. Do not cash the check they mail you to purchase equipment. Please don't give them any of your personal information. They'll ask you to zelle money Rebecca Dewees. DON'T DO IT!!!!
If you are a seller, be AWARE of dealing with Ocean Equity Real Estate. I question their professionalism as well as other things being they will represent both the seller and the buyer on the same property. We saw a house on the internet on a Sunday located in Newport, Oregon. We call called our agent who contacted seller's agent. Our agent was told it was still available. We live in Southern California and explained that it would take us two days to drive to Newport, thus made an appointment to see house on a Tuesday at 3:00 pm. We left at 4:30am on Monday through a driving rainstorm. The next morning seeing a snowstorm was coming through our route we left at 5:30am to make sure we would be there on time. Our agent sent us a text saying seller's agent decided to take offer received on Monday. After a call to our agent, she called seller's agent who then agreed to let us see the house. We arrived three hours earlier than the appointment to accommodate seller's agent. After viewing the house, we fell in love with it and decided to make a bid twenty thousand over asking price. Our agent contacted seller's agent to inform that we were going to make a bid. The seller's agent then reversed again and decided not to let us make an offer. We were unaware the seller's agent was also representing the buyer who made an offer on Monday. We did make a backup offer ten thousand dollars less that the offer we were going to make. The final selling price was $99,000 less than the asking price, thus costing the owner $120,000.
