“Joe is the most AMAZING stylist. I was a stylist myself for years, so I'm pretty picky about who does my hair, so I've been going to Joe for years. We've done some fun colors & he does razor cuts which in my opinion is the best technique for short "Pixie" cuts like mine, he also does great with long hair & I've seen some really beautiful cuts & color on his long hair clients.

The salon is clean & beautiful & under new ownership as of May 2024, so any reviews prior to this date do not apply to this group of stylists.

They offer really nice products that are affordable & are made by smaller companies that care about their customers. Joe has never been high pressure to buy his products, but he will make recommendations. I've always loved everything he's recommended.

The other stylists in the salon are also very good, and very friendly. You won't go wrong by choosing any of these great stylists!

“Many Thanks to Kayla and Lisa (owner) of Essence Hair Studio,!!On July 4,2023 I found Essence Hair Studio on Goggle that had mentioned Hair ToppersNote: No Hair Salons in Mid-Valley Eugene,Corvallis or Salem mentioned Hair ToppersI called most of the Salons that offered extensions but all said NO.I contacted Essence Hair Studio inquiring about a solution for my thinning fine hair and what could be done about it. Kayla/stylist met with me at the studio and listened intently and studied and evaluated my hair and was willing to partner with me for a solution.One of my major concerns I wanted it to look very natural and match my current texture of hair which would be Slavic or Scandinavian Hair. Many toppers are Oriental coarse hair which in my opinion look fake. Kayla had heard of a company and investigated the company that deals in primarily high quality Slavic /Scandinavian VIGIN REAL HAIR- made in Austria called Hairdreams’. She sent me the informations to review and I liked what I saw.The owner-of Essence Hair Studio Lisa and Kayla were very interested in Hairdreams full line of microlines extensions and toppers because of the high quality of the Slavic Hair.Fast forward on September10th I had my semi-permanent beautiful fine hair topper installed.I can’t believe what a difference in how I feel about me from taking the leap and doing it for myself. I feel so much more confident knowing I look better with more hair! Plus my happiness factor is off the charts!!The time you spend-on this topper is minimal 20 minutes daily compared to the time I spent trying to get my fine hair looking good ; only to go out the the door and have it flop within a hour. Rain and Wind doesn’t seem to effect it. Looks good when it drys out ( I did the Oregon coast test).The semi-permanent topper you sleep in and you can actually go swimming in it. I shampoo once a week and then you style and away you go. Theres no need to buy all expensive potions, sprays and shampoos. I/we girls have spent big $$$ over the years to make our fine hair locks look thicker….what a relief no more!I’ve had my topper almost 2 months now and everyday I feel grateful for doing this.Kayla is a Perfectionist in color and cut ….SHE LISTENS!!! I’d rate her A+++ one of the best I’ve had over my 50+ years.The Salon/Studio is in close downtown Salem discreetly hidden along a beautiful serene creek. Their clients rooms are very private and perfect for this type of service._————-_——————-I personal found this process very frustrating until I found Essence Hair Studio. Seems that the greater Portland to Eugene market is void of salons offering hair toppers. While Essence Hair Studio was among this void they were very willing to stretch their marketing scope to invest and to mastering this procedure.My hair has been thinning for at least the past 25+ years. Thus I’ve researched and studied what I thought would be possible solutions. I quickly found that there are different types of hair used to construct toppers. For me it was importance to match my remaining hair type to the topper hair type.Once I saw the passion and commitment Essence Hair Studio showed I became confidentin their ability…resulting in my “let’s do this” decision. Yes, there has been learning times but no issues and a complete “can do” attitude.
