I have to admit, I was a little hesitant when I received Northstar's bid. They were scheduling work when other metal siding contractors were declining jobs for the rest of the year. Was their availability a bad sign? What was I missing?I'm so glad that I decided to check Northstar's references (glowing) and move forward. They were awesome! Their install team was professional and courteous, from repairing my home's sheathing and installing the house wrap, to interacting with the windows contractor and installing the siding. They clearly had experience installing the product (Metallion's seamless siding). (Example: They were able to disguise a 4" discrepancy in elevation between one corner of the house and an adjacent corner 30' away. Wow!) Most importantly, they were polite and accommodating to my many questions and requests. They even threw in some extra work at cost.We are delighted with the end result. We regularly receive compliments on how our house looks. We are thrilled to have new siding that never needs a drop of paint, a fact that offsets the higher materials cost than cement board. (Speaking of 'offsetting,' the siding manufacturer (SteelScape, in WA) operates on hydroelectric power, and the siding is recyclable at end of life. If you're replacing your siding, consider the material's entire lifecycle.)I would recommend NorthStar Restorations without hesitation. If you can get on their schedules, count yourself lucky. PS - If you're removing your old siding, this is the time to insulate your home. Ask Northstar to install 1" foam board onto your home's sheathing. This will help to prevent thermal bridging. The foam board increased the project cost about 20%: well worth it to increase comfort all year 'round. While you're at it, have NW Weatherization dense pack cellulose into your stud bays -- dense pack cost another 10%. Small bare patches, where the color coating gets scratched off during installation, seem unavoidable.

Just had a metal roof fitted by Northstar on a ranch in North Portland. The team's care, attention to detail and work ethic was just outstanding and the final result is incredible. So happy we went with Northstar. Can't recommend highly enough.

When my wife and I first called Northstar Restoration we just wanted a quote on a new roof, as Kirk was doing our estimate 2 things happened first He was on time and 2nd I found out they do much more than roofs. Our house built in 1996 had the original roof, siding and windows all of which were starting to show age so after Kirk got us a bid for all 3 we signed the very competitive contract. Antonio was our lead over seeing every project which included Roof, Siding, Stonework and painting and Antonio made sure the crews did top notch work, we are very pleased with the work they did. NorthStar Restoration does a great job of following up and making sure we were always happy, Allie who is in the office called us all the time and followed up on everything going on with our home. We really felt that the entire group from Tom the owner, Allie and Kirk to the work Antonio and all his crews did was the best we could of asked for and also for those that are thinking about using Northstar I would not hesitate, competitive pricing and great people that will not be satisfied until you are.
