Yiwen is a dedicated teacher who really cares about the well being of her students. To top it off, she is also an expert Yoga practitioner who emphasizes making it a way of life, as opposed to a 2 hr practice every week. She has taught me the value of "balance between challenging but not threatening yourself", both on and off the mat. I have been practicing under her guidance for about 1.5yrs now, and it has had a positive change in my life. I would wish the same for anyone who is looking to improve their health and general well being.
I discovered Yiwen after having practiced yoga for over seven years. On my first day, a veteran student told me in private that Yiwen would take me wherever I want to go with my yoga practice. This has more than borne out. Yiwen is the most dedicated yoga teacher I have encountered; she is extremely generous with her time and spirit. She is ultra-present throughout each class, keenly aware of how each student is doing, and how they have progressed over time. Her classes are intimately-sized and tailored to those in the room; no two are alike. I feel very fortunate that I found this school. Yiwen is an amazing teacher whose knowledge and abilities are extremely rare. I feel constantly impressed by her in class. She is great at teaching students of very different abilities, which is also a trait most teachers seem to lack. Personally, I have a neck injury that requires consideration in just about everything I do in life. Yiwen had been wonderful in her awareness of my specific issue and has created modifications for my class participation that have been beneficial in my recovery.
