I can't recommend Dr. Koroknai, and all of the staff, highly enough. After being quoted an exorbitant amount for dental surgery for our cat at another vet, I began researching alternatives. The wonderful reviews at Bathurst Dupont lead me to take our cat there. The dental cleaning and surgery ended up being a fraction of the price of the other vet and the care we received was excellent. We decided to stay. Over the years we received superb care. Every test and treatment were carefully, patiently explain, no upselling or pressure, and reasonably priced. When our cat became chronically ill, we were able to have another two good years with him due to biweekly treatments. The staff there were always happy to see our cat and were very kind at every visit. Dr. Koroknai very obviously loves animals and is gentle and thoughtful in the way he engages with them. He truly cares about their quality of life. In the end, at the age of 19 when our cat finally passed, we were treated with much compassion and kindness. I recommend them whole-heartedly.
I first took my cat here in 2018 when she had an ear infection. The vet gave a very brief look and decreed ear mite medication, which i purchased and brought home. When I went to administer the medication, I saw that it had expired 6 months before. They gave me expired medication - and this is the kind that needs to be refrigerated. After a lot of debate, they finally agreed to send fresh, unexpired medication to me via courier. That medication never worked. Despite my to sub-par previous experience, I decided to go back to them during Covid in 2019, because they had my cat's medical history and they were one of the few vets allowing humans into exam rooms.I waited one hour after my appointment time, and this new vet, a woman, shoved q-tips deep into my cats ear, like really deep and my cat was clearly in pain. I'd brought a sample of what I'd gently extracted from her ear and the Vet didn't even look at it. She didn't end up getting anything on the Q-tip (probably because she shoved anything deeper inside the ear). She decreed it was "probably bacterial," and told me to give my cat the medication for 10 days and then come back. Not, "Come back of it doesn't improve," just "Come back and we'll reassess." Of course, that was at cost to me, plus the travel and trauma. My cat still has an ear infection. Oh AND they couldn't even manage to clip all of her nails, saying "Wow. She really doesn't like having her nails clipped."Their fees are low and their quality of care is even lower.
