I asked for something simple and she gave me a whole different thing it came out to $70 for just a simple little touch. Plus the lady was very rough on my hair and very strict about it and was keep pulling it.
I was told the price would be between $30 and $35 for a simple blow dry depending on length of hair. I was charged $45 plus tax. Very expensive. Hair is shoulder length. Not honest.
I just came back from visiting the nail salon (Coco Nails) located within Salon Bita on John St. in Markham. I was in the area for work and desperately needed get my nails done. Since my schedule is quite busy, I managed to escape on lunch break and get a shellac polish change. I really needed to get a full manicure but I didn't have the time. I drove to the small plaza and noticed the salon. Right beside is a much bigger salon called Sandalwood, but I saw a sign on the door quoting the price for Bita Salon and could also see the nail technicians were not occupied at the time so I decided to walk in. They took me right away as they did not have any appointments. I choose my colour and they proceeded to remove my previous shellac polish. The space is small but adequate. Since I was the only one there it was fine. I can't imagine having more than 2 customers at a time in such a tiny space. There are 2 table for manicures, 2 massage chairs for pedicures and one extra small room for a massage. I don't think I would get a massage here as it is not very private nor relaxing. The space is only divided by a curtain and the bed is up against the wall - meaning the masseuse would not efficiently be able to work both sides evenly. I only received a shellac polish change so I will only review that in detail. The technician was fairy pleasant. She did not talk much but she was polite. The did use the sander to remove some residue after soaking my nails in acetone. I am not a big fan of the sander but she pressed lightly and did not use it for long on each nail. However, on one finger she got way too close to my cuticle and ended up burning me a bit with the sander. So every time she rubbed acetone over my nail it would burn my finger (a BIG negative for me). She filed and buffed my nails which was done well. She made me wash my hands and then rubbed them with acetone to remove any extra oil/residue. She put one gel base coat and 3 layers of the OPI colour I chose. They have a large assortment of colours which I was happy with. I think 75% of the colours they have are OPI which tends to last long and is quite thick. She did a good job of applying the polish evenly and rotating from hand to hand allowing me to insert my hands one at a time inside the UV machine. She took her time coating my nails evenly and even took the time to place a bit of polish on the corners and underneath which prevents premature chipping and hopefully allows the polish to last longer (up to 3 weeks). Overall she did a pretty good job. The whole process from start to finish was 1 hour (but they weren't busy). The total cost was $25 for a shellac removal and shellac polish (no manicure) - average price. Not sure I would wish back here but if I was ever in the area I would consider going again. They have a lot of colours and she took her time.
