5 out of 5 stars... October 31, 2021, we woke up to a cold house. I checked the boiler (hot water heating) and found that the Thermocouple for the pilot light was not working. I called another company to fix get the furnace working again. They charged $450 (!!!), replaced the thermocouple, then did an emissions test and found that the CO emissions were slightly high. The service man said he would arrange an appointment for someone to give a furnace replacement estimate. I called 4 other companies that do boiler work to give an estimate. One of them was Clement Marchand. Pat Marchand looked at the furnace (RBI Spectrum) and said that he was over 90% sure that the 20 year old boiler just needed a good cleaning. He advised me to call his office to arrange the cleaning and if the cleaning did not fix the emissions problem, his company would not charge for the cleaning irrespective of which company I chose for that job. He also said that the boiler would probably last another 15-20 years!!! Clement Marchand's service technician arrived 2 days later, spent almost 4 hours cleaning the heat exchanger for the boiler ($525), and low and behold... NO CO EMISSIONS! No other company suggested that a simple cleaning could forgo the major expense of boiler replacement (prices ranged from $10.000 to $15,000). An honest, thorough and thoughtful company. I highly recommend this company for servicing your hot water heating system!
